Roach Reefs Resort is a a comfortable resort situated on a private, man-made tropical reef about 25 mins by speed boat from Balung River, Tawau. Its location, right at the edge of the Borneo shelf and less then 45 mins away from Sipadan Island, makes it a paradise for divers and non divers alike. Roach Reefs is the outer most reefs from Tawau, built on by the sinking of 2 used steel barge in 1993. For many years now, Roach Reefs is regarded for having the best dive sites Tawau has to offer.
The reef chalets are built in traditional architecture offering a basic but comfortable accommodation for you to enjoy. Roach Reefs Resort is famous for its services as the staffs are friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. Facilities of the resort include spacious room with ceiling fan, sea view balcony, private bathroom and toiletries with hot shower, restaurant serving Asian and Continental cuisine, international phone call service, and dive centre provides all in-water activities include scuba training and education.
Roach Reefs Resort may not be the perfect romantic getaway you are seeking but if you are an avid diver or if you are looking for some peace and quiet this is the perfect place. The resort also arranges dives at Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai upon request so you can basically dive all the prime dive sites if you stay here. The amazing table corals at Barracuda Sanctuary (Second Reef) is the resort's most impressive site. Here, snorkelers and divers can see layers after layers of table corals formed on the shallow reef and tropical fish to brighten your day. The food here is great, especially the BBQ! Simple but delicious home-cooking! This resort is a suitable place for family gatherings and private parties.

Chalets
Swaying palms and the row of chalets. There are 9 chalets here in Roach Reefs Resort and the resort can accommodate a maximum of 30 visitors.
Room
Each room comes with 2 single beds, ceiling fan, hot water shower, towels, hair dryer, soap and shampoo.
Dive Center
The dive center offers PADI Courses ranging from PADI Discover Scuba Diving to PADI Dive Master. The dive center also offers a selection of dive gears for rent. Roach Reefs Resort organize dive trips around Roach Reefs, Mabul, Kapalai and the great Sipadan Island.
Key Staff
Lina: Lina is the key staff in charge of logistics and administrative duties. She is also the person in charge of arranging your dive/snorkeling trips to Sipadan.
Richie: Richie is the receptionist at the resort and is a bubbly and friendly girl. She can be kinda dreamy sometimes but she is always ready to serve you.
Ambross: Ambross is the top dive guide at Roach Reefs with an amazing 8 years of experience. He is quite a shy lad, but he is always very genuine and honest and he is a very helpful staff.

Sipadan Trip:
Sipadan Island is just 45 minutes boat ride from Roach Reefs. The resort has 6 daily permits to Sipadan and you can take up on this offer to do some snorkeling and/or scuba diving at Sipadan.
Each trip (diving or snorkeling) will cost RM1000, equally divided among those who are taking the trip. You get to do 3 dive/snorkeling sessions, each session around 45 minutes.
Each visitor will still need to pay the entry visa (RM40) to Sipadan Park for each trip.
Note: Please book your Sipadan trip ahead of time
Each trip (diving or snorkeling) will cost RM1000, equally divided among those who are taking the trip. You get to do 3 dive/snorkeling sessions, each session around 45 minutes.
