Indonesia has recently gained infamy for the big-ass forest fires that have destroyed forests on an epic scale. Widely believed as a humongous man-made destruction instead of natural causes, the recent forest fire has caused severe air pollution and thick haze surrounding Southeast Asia and it's becoming an international crisis now. Sipadan is not exempted.
The boat ride from Semporna to Sipadan has become a pain in the ass for boat captains to navigate and it's not a pleasant sight. The journey would normally be very enjoyable and the boat ride from Semporna to Sipadan enables us to catch awesome views of the islands surrounding Semporna, amazing reflection of the sun on our crystal clear waters and fantastic clear blue sky.
Fortunately, the visibility underwater is not affected and divers get to enjoy the dives in Sipadan like they normally would. Although the school of barracudas been acting like a b*tch playing hide and seek, the dives are still amazingly colorful with a massive school of jacks and countless sea turtles and White-tip sharks swimming with us on every dive. Well let's hope that the haze will disperse by December.
Here are some recent photos of how good Sipadan is despite the sh*tty haze. Come join us!
