These quiet and peaceful lodges are set on the eastern face of the island, giving you a set-back view of the Filipino side of the resort. Positioned purposely to the east, these lodges offer a great early morning catchment of sun until well into the afternoon. Each lodge offers a great element of privacy to read, relax and take-in the Mataking atmosphere. Situated on the western side of the isle, these handcrafted lodges are the perfect choice for those guests who appreciate traditional Malaysian charm. The word “Mataking” literally translated means, “The Eye of Kings”, and if you are staying in one of these limited edition chalets then you will know exactly what we mean. Rising up from the beach front of the lagoon, the balcony of your chalet gives you a front row seat as the sun settles over the nearby islands in the evening, turning the entire lagoon to a bright orange colour. Each King Chalet naturally has a bedroom which is simply oversized and luxurious. The large queen bed overlooking your private balcony with satellite television and mini bar will allow you to relax to the max! Each bathroom comes with a private bathtub overlooking the lagoon and a large walk-in shower. Exclusive to Mataking you will simply feel like royalty as a resident in a Mataking King!

The Luxury Beach Villa is the absolute ultimate in premier accommodation in Malaysia. Painstakingly built by hand, the alang-alang grass roofing of these grand villas allows a unique and natural coolness to the room during the day whilst at night, keeps the warmth of the room in. The polished marble flooring of the bedroom area retains an element of grandeur, whilst the individual stone wash basins and hand crafted outside shower demonstrate an element of home-grown luxury. The Reef Dive Resort is a PADI Dive Resort that offers easy and affordable PADI courses from PADI Discover Scuba Diving program, PADI Open Water Diver Course and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course to a variety of PADI Specialty Courses like the PADI Enriched Air Diver (NITROX).

Like most dive resorts around Sipadan, The Reef Dive Resort offers 3 boat dives per day (except on arrival and departure days) to exotic dive sites in Mataking Besar and Mataking Kecil, Pompong, Timba-Timba, Pandanan and Sipadan of course (Dives at Sipadan are not inclusive in the diver's package and must be paid separately at the resort).

Yohanes (Ah Pong): Yohanes is a senior Dive Master and is always seem to be cheerful. He is quite comical and tends to joke a lot. He is friendly and an easy-going fellow. You would most likely end up befriending him after just a few dives.

Chino: Chino is a PADI Instructor from Japan. She is rather shy but is a kind and helpful staff and is always eager to lend a hand. Although she is quite a quiet person Chino is a very skilled and experienced instructor and is always willing to impart some of her knowledge and techniques to new divers.

Carol: The sales and marketing manager has been with the company since the start. She is a workaholic who strives to be the best in what she does. You can expect to see her everywhere from the sales office managing her work to the airport greeting customers and at the resort busy with the task of ensuring you the best holiday ever.

Jacy: An avid diver, Jacy is Mataking's sales executive and handles the rooming and logistics. She is a friendly girl and is easy to get along with. She is very informative and if you get the chance to meet her, she will sure to give you the most recent updates and information about the resort.

Sipadan Trip:
Sipadan Island is just 45 minutes boat ride from Mataking. The resort has 7 daily permits to Sipadan and you can take up on this offer to do some snorkeling and/or scuba diving at Sipadan.

Each trip (diving or snorkeling) will cost RM1200, equally divided among those who are taking the trip. You get to do 3 dive/snorkeling sessions, each session around 45 minutes.

Each visitor will still need to pay the entry visa (RM40) to Sipadan Park for each trip.
